“Dino Soler Classically” is an album of the Italian jazz-funk-disco of the brass musician Giuseppe Soler, released in the summer of 1977 on Oasis (28,909 OT) in Germany, Derby (DBR 82159) in Italy and Polydor (2310-567) in Hong Kong . Since then, vinyl has not been published. Giuseppe Solera – a fan from Bologna (Italy), who found his happiness in the musical team of Giorgio Moroder at his studio MusicLand in Munich. It can be found under the name of Dino Soler in the credits of the albums of the band Munich Machine and Moroder. Classically Dino Solera is Soler’s only joint record with Moroder. Giuseppe arranged several famous classical tunes, including “To Elise” by Mozart, in the style of disco, which in 1977 pushed out any other music from the dance floors. It was fashionable to adapt to the rhythm of disco all that people listened to before: from the classics to The Beatles and rock music, hence the birth of this album is understandable. His recording was attended by a team of session musicians from MusicLand and Munich Machine: bassist Gary Unwin, guitarist Mats Björklund, keyboardist Tor Baldursson, drummer Keith Forsy and irreplaceable on the vocals of all the records of Giorgio Moroder’s female trio, known only to us by name: Claudia, Lucy and Gitte . The album is distinguished by the professionalism of this team, high quality of arrangement and recording.
Classically Dino Solera – one of the “hot pies” disco, which baked “while hot” Munich studio Giorgio Morodera in 1977-79, the disc was a success at discotheques of that time, without bypassing the Soviet Union. If anyone wants to have an idea about disco, Classically Dino Solera is a classic album in this genre.
