Officially, the year of the birth SAXON group is considered to be 1979, the year of the release of their debut album, but the first time they said about me in ’75 -76gg, speaking as many of their colleagues in the various pubs. SAXON Group was formed through the merger of two British teams – SON OF A BITCH and COAST, or rather the transition from the last to the SOB vocalist Peter “Biff” Byford (Peter “Biff” Byford, vocals) and guitarist Paul “Blyut” Quinn (Paul “Blute “Quinn, guitar). This “couple” the only original composition of the team remains in it until now. Title SON OF A BITCH was quite rude and approaches rather young rebels, punks, and not “mature” metalheads (all members of the group have long been exchanged dozens of threads that in the history of Heavy Metal is one of the rarest events – mostly musicians debut in adolescence ). Besides their music was more serious and thoughtful than the stadium anthems ogoldelyh teenagers, because of what the musicians for a long time could not find a suitable label for the record, and with the same name it has caused even greater problems. Changing the sign on the proud name of SAXON, they soon enlisted the support of Peter Hinton, and with it the company EMI, under the wing of which were many young group “New Wave of British Heavy Metal” (NWOBHM), including the notorious IRON MAIDEN.

However, on musical Olympus musicians lasted not long. Already in the mid-eighties, the group began differences, frequent change of the composition (in particular constantly changing drummers and bass players). The audience also began to lose interest in the band, the music of which was given to commerce, and on the background of revolutionary for the genre works IRON MAIDEN, JUDAS PRIEST and begins its journey HELLOWEEN, rapidly losing points. The most paradoxical that it started after a full transition from SAXON Carrere under the guidance of EMI in 1984 – if «Crusader» (1984) still bear traces of its former swagger musicians, then for example «Innocence Is No Excuse» (1985) or «Destiny» (1988) was a complete failure.

The tenth anniversary of several remedied the situation for the better. In 1990, they noisily swept around the world on tour, released a new album «Solid Ball Of Rock» (1990) under the leadership of the now Virgin Records. With less consistently than before, saxon live but with a greater degree of responsibility for the material, the musicians presented the plate «Forever Free» (1992), «Dogs Of War» (1995) and «Unleash The Beast» (1997). SAXON regained the lost reputation in the late eighties with the release of another «Solid Ball To Rock», and these albums have consolidated their position as well as the army of fans attracted to a new generation by modern hard sound. Yes, and the musical material has become more varied and interesting. The new millennium SAXON met albums «Metalhead» (2000) and «Killing Ground» (2001). C consistently musicians continue to delight fans consistently solid performance, the latter of which «Into the Labyrinth» (2009) was published earlier this year.
